Here's finally another newsletter from nordicdvd.com!

The newsletter has unfortunately been absent for a couple of years. We will try to send out one approx. once a month from now on. We've concentrated mainly on new releases in this first newsletter, but a few highlights since last time are also included.

Since last time we even have an all new new video format: Blu-ray. We have sold Blu-ray from day one of course, and the Nordic distributors (even though slow as usual) are now starting to come out with most new titles on BD. Mammoth on DVD and Blu-ray next week!

As announced in May will Lukas Moodysson's latest feature film Mammoth be released on DVD and Blu-ray next week, on Wednesday July 22. Luckily it's now confirmed that both releases will include English subtitles for the parts spoken in Thai/ Tagalog.

As a "birthday gift" for Norway's National Day on May 17, Alexander Rybak won the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with his song Fairytale! This is Norway's third victory, the first was in 1985 and the second in 1995. Next year we will finally welcome Europe once more!

HKFlix, one of our affiliates in the U.S., recently announced a region free Blu-ray Disc player, the Momitsu BDP-899. In addion they have several region free DVD players in their hardware section.

The Norwegian youth film Aldri mer 13 ("Goodbye 13!") from 1996, directed by Sirin Eide, is now available on DVD for the first time. English subtitles included.

Stefan Jarl's classic documentary series Mods is finally back in stock after having been unavailable for a long time. It's now released as a four-disk DVD box where the 4th disk contains new interviews with the people involved where they talk about their lives after the documentary series ended. Rovdyr (aka Manhunt/ Backwoods) is finally released on Blu-Ray Disc (BD). Even though it was delayed several months because of production problems it's still the first Norwegian film released on video on a High Definition format, of course with 1080p/ 24fps picture and even lossless DTS HD audio.
